UPS has announced that it will be using virtual reality tech to train it’s student drivers in the upcoming months. Using HTC Vive headsets, student drivers will be taken into a simulated vr experience where they have to avoid obstacles, people and other tasks related to their job training. This sure beats the 2D touchscreens that students were previously using in the UPS training facilities.
Utilizing real world scenarios, the students will get to experience a variety of objectives and even though it’s not the real world, virtual reality is taking it one step closer. For a company like UPS to bring vr training to their facilities, shows the impact virtual reality has as a tool for enhanced learning and it will no doubt be something more companies will adapt to in the future.
